Website Research - Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars' website Bruno Mars's website did not particularly appeal to Lauren and I. This is due to the very simple and ordinary colour scheme and layout. Surprisingly, it was also hard to navigate around the site which added to our dislike.  Although we did not like the layout and colour scheme of the website we really liked the addition of adding all his current songs in a list linked to Spotify which you can listen to as navigating through the website.

Filming Session

Last weekend, Grace and I had another filming session - at which we did not come very prepared and quickly encountered many problems. This included the lighting which was one of the most significant issues we encountered as the lights reflected in the windows, which was seen on the camera. As a result of this we began to take our shots against a wall, of our performer singing which we will later match the music to the singing. We took many shots of our performer dancing which we will cut and edit. Due to the issues with the lighting, our further filming's quality was reduced and almost looked grainy and is not the quality we would have hoped for! This made Grace and I feel like we should completely re-think our music video but instead we have come up with some ideas to make filming more suited to our needs e.g. using a studio give our dancer space, use 3 cameras at 3 different angles to capture our performer and use daylight for our lighting. History of Music Videos

As part of my research and planning, I am going to look into the history of music videos. I will look at 5 artists music videos and compare their most recent and successful music videos with thier eldest ones. Whilst doing this I will evaluate how the music videos have developed and changed but also, whether there are key features and motifs which are still used in old and new music videos. Rihanna- Unfaithful 2006 and Wild thoughts 2017 Immediately, you can see a clear change in Rihanna's music videos and how they have developed in the past 11 years. The location is probably the most dramatic initial change which shapes your view on the rest of the video. 'Unfaithful' begins with a much longer introduction setting the scene for the narrative, which is to take place in what looks like a dressing room where she remembers flashbacks of a boyfriend.
